The EPA Alliance Training Group, in partnership with Petroleum Training Solutions, now offers training for Class C operators of underground storage tank (UST) systems. UST Class C Operator Training is a new rule in most states that requires owners of UST systems to ensure their staff are trained to respond to emergencies at UST systems. By August 8, 2012, most states will require all persons designated as a Class C UST operator be trained either by a Class A/B operator or by an approved third party vendor. Some states require it now and some state will require it before the national deadline.
Who is a Class C Operator?
A Class C operator is anyone who might respond to a spill, alarm or emergency at a UST facility during normal hours of operation. Most states require at least one operator per site but most large companies are training many or all staff.
What does the training involve?
Participants take our interactive video course on-line covering several required lessons. A final exam is offered and attendees who pass it can print a certificate of completion. The operator fills out a worksheet after class to make sure they understand site-specific conditions and company policies. The course takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Is the course approved?
Yes, our course is approved or accepted in over 28 states and the list of growing. We plan to be approved in most states by the national deadline. See map below of approved and pending states.
0.5 Hours (30 Minutes). Asynchronous WBT course, which means you can finish the course at your own pace.
