Underground & Aboveground Storage Tank Management Workshop - Las Vegas, Nevada

Course Overview:

Are you ready for a Las Vegas get-away? If so, come and join us at the Underground & Aboveground Storage Tank Management Workshop in Las Vegas! This is a focused training workshop for personnel responsible for managing underground and aboveground storage tanks in various applications including compliance, planning and permitting, vehicle fueling, heating oil, emergency generators and varied industrial applications, both petroleum and chemical. This UST/AST Workshop covers the full range of storage tank management topics from beginner to advanced.

From day 1 we will take you through an in-depth look at the federal requirements for underground and aboveground storage tanks and some specific state laws and regulations as well. You will receive a complete review of all existing regulations, as well as an analysis of the current changes in effect as a result of the Energy Bill 2005.  See first hand how these existing and future rules can impact your facilities.

We will then give you a detailed breakdown of how to comply with these regulations, section-by-section, in each area of compliance and management, including:

  • Typical Installations – take a look at how it is supposed be done; typical underground and aboveground designs, applications, and “off-the-shelf ideas”
  • Monitoring and Leak Detection – the key to leak prevention and detection;  how can you know that you have a problem before it shuts you down, or worse causes contamination
  • Inventory Reconciliation – techniques that will help you develop the right program for your storage tanks
  • Closure and Investigation – easy to follow steps in the tank closure process; ways to set the standard before you start and what to do when there has been a release, the first steps in a controlled investigation.
  • Inspection and Maintenance – the key to proper operations is inspection and maintenance; see the techniques to be used; take a look at some alternative checklists that can be used and see the ones that the regulators and certifying inspectors use.
  • SPCC Planning – one of the most regulated and enforced areas of compliance today; see what the regulations are and how to apply them to your operations.
  • Special Considerations for Hazardous Substances and Wastes – not everyone has them, but those that do, wish they knew how to make sure that they don’t leak; see what the regulations are and how to comply with them.
  • Used Oil Management - everyone has used oil, whether it be considered a hazardous waste or a petroleum product depends on how you manage it.  See how the federal regulations have made it easier to store and manage your used oil.
  • Operator Training – see what is required under the new Energy Bill Requirements.
